Nursery Rhymes in Japan

cuteSisterLibrary

Working with a lovely group of Japanese women, Michelle developed an online program for Japanese mothers to help them bond with their children.

Beginning with the Alphabet Song, they learn how to literally chew on consonants and vowels, in order to get the muscle memory working for these new sounds.

Then 10 Different nursery rhymes are explored: Little Jack Horner, Old King Cole, Little Miss Muffet, Little Bo Peep, Pat a Cake, Jack and Jill, Jack Sprat, Humpty Dumpty, High Diddle Diddle and Simple Simon.

Michelle teaches how to speak each rhyme in the most basic way, and then shakes things up with different interpretations for mothers to emulate. Creative visualization and theatre games are then introduced as a jumping off point to find spontaneous new interpretations of each story.

In depth history of each rhyme, the meanings of the words and fun tidbits about them add color and depth to this amazing course. The ‘before and after’ recordings of the women who are enrolling in this opportunity are truly exciting!
